Welcome to the Ontario Bariatric Network

The Ontario Bariatric Network (OBN) is a collaborative network consisting of 11 Bariatric Centres across Ontario that provide comprehensive medical and surgical bariatric services. For more information about the OBN, please click here.

The OBN provides both a Medical Program and a Surgical Program, funded by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MOHLTC) for residents of Ontario. To learn more about our programs and treatment options, please refer to the section for Our Programs.

How Do I Get A Referral?

In order to be referred to one of our bariatric programs, you will require a physician’s referral. Your referring physician must register and submit your referral through the Online Referral System. If you are determined to be eligible for the program, you will be assigned to one of our Bariatric Centres, who will contact you directly to set up your first appointment. Your candidacy for the program will be determined by an interdisciplinary team of bariatric experts. The OBN has developed standardized patient care paths for all Bariatric Centres across the province, to ensure that bariatric services provided are standardized provincially and that all patients receive the best standard of care.
