Regional Assessment Treatment Centre (RATC)

RATC Overview:

A Regional Assessment Treatment Centre (RATC), like the BCoE is an organization with a team of experts promoting the collaboration and use of best practices around the care of people suffering with obesity and obesity related diseases.
 
Their focus is on improving health by decreasing the cardiovascular risk factors such as high blood pressure and diabetes. They act as a resource for improving the patients knowledge base enabling them to implement strategies to deal with their obesity in a non-surgical way.
 
An RATC does not offer surgery although many are co-located at the BCoEs

Most Bariatric Centres of Excellence (BCoE) contain a Regional Assessment and Treatment Centre (RATC) and the following are the four (4) stand-alone RATC's that are part of the Ontario Bariatric Program:
